The intel ones over clock easily. I've got the 6750, which is 2.66ghz (I think?), running at 3.4ghz. Some have clocked it to 4ghz too

cosmo, because they are cheap. and my bro has one and it hasnt posed any problems at all, run sweet as a nut.

he runs the same as above but with a 320mb 8800gts and runs cod4 highest details 91fps constant.. doesnt move up or down. which is totally fine for me as i will probably play cod4, lfs and crysis..

i dont need anything faster.

The intels are cheap, have dropped massively in price. And for the same as the AMDs you get much much more performance.

The equivalently priced E6550 is a better chip, boards are the same price so no reason not to get the intel atm.

ive looked on lots of benchmarks and the E6550 isnt as fast in gaming than the amd, that was on toms hardware which i trust.

Yes it is, AMD sucks cock. Plus once you overclock it (which it does very easily) then you'll be laughing at the AMD.

i dont over clock processors.. i never seen the point.. here is the link to toms hardware page.. baring in mind that this is non overclocked..

http://www23.tomshardware.com/cpu_2007.html?modelx=33&model1=921&model2=874&chart=416

Spend the extra £10 then and get the E6750....the Core 2's are much much better CPUs, so if your not willing to overclock (even though they will hugely overclock and offer much better performance) then for £100 you get the E6750 which gets much better benchmarks than the AMD.
