Author would colour coding effect my insurance ?

was thinking about getting my faded trims painted the same colour as the car, which is silver.

a freind said it might affect my insurence as its a "modifcation"

? help before i use back to black very soon !

Technically yes, as it's a modification. In reality, I doubt it.

The only problem you'll find is that if you have an accident, they'll only restore it back to 'factory', therefore you'd have some black plastics.

I hadn't declared my Depo's or debadge grill, which technically is a modification, but they didn't seem to car. When it was repaired, they replaced them with GM parts. Although admittedly the front end had been smashed in, they repair company did notice so the insurance company would have known.

All insurance companies are different though - so it's always best to check. That could be a reason for them not to pay out, in which time you'd be stuffed

Doubt they'll care but ask anyways coz I had problems insuring mine with a certain company coz of my colour coded bumpers and spoiler.

cant u jsut use the age old trick of saying ' it came with them so i thought they were standard '

seeing as some corsas came with them as standard?

Its not like they ask "what colour is your car?"

and you answer "well its blue with black bits on the bumpers"

cant see it making any difference to be honest

me too it came standard with hids and depos, and etc etc
