fitted my linkage today and was wondering what your thoughts were on the throttle return spring, it seems to be causing me some issues as it needs go past horizontal to open the butterfly's fully, I cant seem to adjust this out of it and by going past horizontal it is causing the plastic rod to bend which in turn makes it difficult to open to full throttle and looks as if it could make it stick open.

The springs on the bodies themselves seem to do adequate job of closing the butterfly's and the whole lot seems to work more smoothly without the plastic rod and spring so do you think i actually need fit it?

Im sure jamesvalver has just used a standard throttle cable and welded a bracket to the bulkhead so im assuming he is only using the return springs on the bodies them self?

noticed you were online rob and thought you might be able to help! you think the return spring on the jenveys themselves is enough then?

mine were. i was even contemplating taking 2 of them off, as the throttle pedal on mine was ridiculously stiff. got cramp in your foot on long journeys!
but i never had any problems with not having the return spring on the throttle linkage

return spring is only there because jenvey linkages are just overpriced carburettor linkages. also FIA rules ask for a return spring on the cable that isnt part of the tb's themselfes I have been told.

also its worth getting the softer tb springs from jenvey, only a few pence and make for a far nicer drive.

yes, jenvey linkages are difficult to get right sometimes, even more so when on the car.

are the tb's all fitted yet? remember that when they are fitted and running it may all need to be re adjusted I would fit the linkage on top of the tb's to make life easier.

not on the car yet no and Iv underslung them as thats the only bracket jenvey do and im not much of a fabricator (i did think a top mounting would make life easier though), it all looks to be okay and it will be going to jamsport for the ecu o be set up and mapped im sure they will be able to sort ant minor issues (although i haven't checked to see if the linkage will clear the alternator yet.

on the DTH bodies the linkage bolts to the airbox side (as far as i can see think i have done it right) so hoping wont be major issues with water pipe clearance.
