Have never made a project on here but have one on my site, so I'll just put all the updates in here, so there is probably quite a few pictures!

It's not really a massive project, but there are a couple of bits and pieces I wanted to do to it so I thought I may aswell.

Here it is, as I have bought it:

It's not really a project I guess, more of a tidy up. :thumbl:

I'll update as I get round to bits and pieces

----------

Got a Post '97 bumper thanks to my mate, unfortunately in green though!

So have to rub it down and spray it, which I have never done before so it's all a bit of an experience for me.

I started rubbing it down, I've run out of paper now but does it need rubbed down more? I didn't bother masking it just incase it did need more.

----------

Rubbed down (Properly)

Paint preperation wipes

Primer goes on

Lovely!

Paint should be done within the week hopefully! Just got to get the colour code for my car.

----------

My poor centre cap fell off

Been having problems with my car shuddering in various revs, it was never at a certain point, mostly at lower revs though. So after seeing my mate clean his AFM with Carb cleaner I did the same, I haven't tested to see if it worked yet.

I've hated this thing since I've had the car. Taken it off for now. Might spray it to black or something, but at the moment it's fine.

----------

Got my bulbs working on temp guage, but there is a wiring fault on my clocks which means the Indicator, High Beam & Rear Fog Light warning lights don't show up on the clocks. The indicator one is annoying as I keep leaving it on!

So I need a 2nd hand set of clocks, as I also have a sticky speedo needle so it sometimes gets stuck at 70 when I'm doing 30 etc.

But at least I can see the temperature at night

And my lovely freshly painted bumper

Put it on at my site meet

Lovely!

Needs a clean.

Hide and seek.

Just got to get some paint thinners on the top of the grey strip as there is some white overspray where there wasn't any masking tape.

Looks so much better

I want to do my bootlid now to get rid of the rust patches, got the bug for fresh paint!

----------

Nice update, 2.0 brakes!

Standard brakes

2.0 disc on top of 1.4 disc

Disc & Caliper off

2.0 Disc and Caliper on

Danny hard at work!

Sorted

And also picked up these bad boys, I currently have no spare wheel so was getting a bit paranoid!

Although if I ever get a flat front wheel, I'll have to take a rear wheel off, put it on the front, and put the spare on the back as the spare doesn't fit over the 2.0 brakes

And that's all so far, not really sure what else to do to it yet. Need some more maintenance type things rather than more modifications first.

Is that a corsa c or sport steering wheel looks alot different to the 3 spoke one i have.

Radiator fins look like that have taken a beating

It was fine, it still shudders though, I'm guessing that's because I used some Redex, has only been doing it since I put that in!

It's a Sport Steering Wheel, I'm changing it back to the SRi one though, as the horn doesn't work on this one

very nice, love the black and white theme, works perfectly.

What other modifying plans have you got for it?

Errr, that is a Post 97, there was a Pre 97 on it before? Or is there some special bumper in between

Other modifying plans, well to be honest I have no idea. I'm happy with the car, any other plans are just tidy up some bits. Like rust on the bootlid, so rub down and respray with left over paint from the bumper. Although not sure how it'd match up against the rest of the paint...

Corsa Sport wheel fits fine, as you can see. I want the standard SRi one back though.

that's a pre 97 colour coded rear bumper, not post 97. i had a post 97 corsa for a year so should know

post 97 rear bumpers have no groove in the top plastic part like your's does. the towing eye thing also has a cover on it

I didn't even know they did a pre 97 semi colour coded. I was told they were all a whole unit and couldn't be semi colour coded.

False info!

Got some Astra CDX wheels from willay, 3 are in good condition but 1 is pretty badly kerbed so that needs a bit of work.

Trial fit, no rubbing

Gave them a wash cause they were filthy.

Rubbed down with 400 to get laquer off.

The only bad wheel really, and it's pretty bad.

Clocks are cable mate, not digital.

Sprayed them earlier, will get pics up later today, I'm going to bed.

8)

Laquer tonight!

____________________________

Did this on Friday afternoon but have been at Modded UK so only just posting:

All laquered up and shiny

Left in the heater cupboard overnight to dry the laquer properly

Suspension isn't settled here so looks high!

Bought a better condition splitter as mine was mangled

Bottom one had a split from a vicious pot hole.

A couple of pictures of my new wheels that were taken at Modded UK:
