I know ur thinking not another one but I have sat here for about 2hrs looking for info and cant find anything!


the problem is I have had my 1.4 16v corsa sport for 3 weeks and the engine is knocking what i need to know is will a 1.6 16v engine go straight in?? or will things be needed?? like what??

i just stuck a 1.6 in mine easy job to do took a couple of days. unbolt , bolt in and swap ecu over

soo every thing is the same apart from the ecu?? does the ecu deffo need switching over??

it will run off the 1.4 ecu just a lot better off the 1.6 one

thank you for your help...soo does the ecu have to be from the donour car or any car?
something about the transponder chip? the ecu is the only thing different? exhaust ect...

i got a 4-1 manifold so its fits both ecu doesnt need to be out the donor car but the ecu, key chip and immobiliser ring need to be from the same car

do you need the key chip and ring? will the engine start with out them??

the ecu the chip and the ring are all coded together unless you have all 3 from one car it wont work.

if you buy just an engine...and can only find an ecu how would you get around this??

sooo apart from the ecu chip and ring, everything else is ready to drop in?? is there an inlet are something which is different?

dont get one of them its an xel out of a astra get one out of a corsa that looks the same as your 1.4

the xel will still fit though, and you can use the inlet off the original engine

thank you for that information...glad i didint buy it! does the inlet usually come with the engine?? or will I have to purchase that extra?
