how much bhp on the engine will this add do you think dave?

What other mods has he got to his engine?

Mate had it done to his 1.6, didnt make any difference.

depends on the state of tune, on a high revving engine a decent head can gain as much as 12bhp.

No gains what so ever im affriad.

But as Dave A said, depends on state of tune, add a inlet & a full exhaust then you'll noitce it.

im sure it will gain a few bhp on the standard engine, make it rev more quickly, and better pull in higher revs

You're wrong, i'm telling you. My mate did the same, made no difference. The only reason it may go better is because of the C16XE head.

A ported head will make more power than it did before hand.

Your mate obviously made less than standard power before.

On a 100% standard engine, there will be a gain, no question about it.

Yeah, it was a bit shit, he was only just pulling from 1.4 16v's...
