Have only had the engine in a month or 2 and its using a hell of a lot of oil recently?
filled it to the top dipstick mark on monday, and its at the bottom mark by wednesday morning
Its not blowing back through the oil filler cap, and not using any coolant, so i dont think its the head gasket......quite smokey on startup though, and sometimes when I give it a full throttle blip?
really confusing me
P.s. Dont know if its relevant, but it seems to be slightly heavier on fuel, and doesn't have the get-up-and-go off the line torque it did a few weeks ago|?
thanks

If its not leaking.
Its burning it.
Either stem seals, or piston rings.
Commong on small block 16v engines.
Does it do it more under load?
Or on overun?

Drive down a hill letting the engine brake, then lightly depress the throttle and look out the rear window, if you see smoke its seals i think, both my x16xe and c16xe did this, C was hardly noticeable though..

also..dont know if it means anything, but the inlet/throttle butterfly had oil caked on it when I had it off last, shortly after I fitted the engine
