but can you break/move a rev limiter
i swear mine used to cut in at 6500rpm exact
now it cuts in at 6700rpm - or thats what it shows

No guarentee that your needle is calibrated to the amount of revs. Cant see the engine would move/break a rev limiter. A session on a R/R would tell you.

HAVE YOU HAD THE NEEDLES OFF OR MESSED ABOUT WITH THE DIALS AT ANYTIME CAUSE IF SO THEN THATS WHY.

Yup, they rev to 6750rpm as standard

a 1.6 is 6800rpm
a 1.4 is 6500rpm
it even says in the back of the vauxhall service book
and no i haven't touched the dials at all

My mates 1.4 goes to 6750rpm

okay maybe it does, can't find any info on TIS
im sure thye 1400 is 6500rpm and the 1600 is 6800rpm
on the rr, the rev limiter cut in a 6500, but its since then iv noticed the difference?????

My 1.4 was 6750 (and 7200). My 1.6 was 7200.

i want it to be 7200 too, all i want is a cheap superchip
