My car is REALLY pissing me off now!!

With not ever having a turbo car i was looking forward to owning one.I know it aint an RX7 or whatever but the power delivery of mine is so erratic it is really doing my head in now..

When driving somtimes the car feels so quick it's like there is actually a turbo working and it fly's but most of the time the car is flat through the rev range but still nippy. For example is was driving the other day and completly wasted a lad in a VTR from the lights and i could hear the standard Bosch DV whooshing like fuk and by 70 he was way behind..he was trying BTW before anyone starts

BUT yesterday i was at a bottle neck type road..next to me was a Ford Galaxy people carrier thingy. We both crawled off in 1st and must have both changed into 2nd at 2K odd then we both floored it around a large bend..even when i was 3rd i was only just ahead of him coming into the single road losing to a Galaxy?

So wtf is wrong with my car? It is going back to the garage i bought it from today to get the Master Cylinder on the clutch pedal repalced as the pedal sticks sometimes but i boubt they will be able to sort the power delivery out as they are reallty fuking clueless

Could the dodgy clutch pedal have anything to do with the power not coming all the time? What else could it be? Fuked Turbo?

Thanks for your time people

clutch could be slipping? when the turbo comes on

i dont know about turbo's that much erratic power delivery? erm i dunno i can think of a few things but they would kill the turbo.

so it could be the clutch

Yeah i was thinking the clutch might be playing a big part

If i'm driving say in 3rd with the revs rising and i dump the clutch and release again the car rockets off like mad!!

Must be

How's the car then Adam??

Also in the wet the turbo kicks in if i floor it in any low gear 1.2.3 at about 4.5 to 5K.Why does it only seems to kick in in the wet when it can't get traction?

Good to hear about the car mate well done Respect for doing it all yourself

I suppose it could be a few things but it is really annoying me now because i know it is meant to be a lot faster than what it is but somthing is making me lose faith in the car

Might be trading it in for a Yreg 106 GTI in black next week fuk it...

Get the 106 A3 is a boat around corners compared to it, and performance is pretty much the same.

They are reliable, they do have the odd common problem like the DV failing, they are not very good reliability wise. I havent really heard of any clutch problems like Alan is having though. Ive had problems like new MAF, Limp mode, New throttle body and other minor problems.
