Do you mean, wouldn't be that bad??

If so, are you aware that the engine would need to be put in longways. That would be a bit of a pain to mount. Then you'd need a rear axle from something. Plus a propshaft, plus a tunnel to run it in. Then re-route the exhaust so that would be custom built......not worth it.

plus wouldnt RWD be slightly overkill for a 16xe? unless your going massive spec in which case why not 20xe/let?

you could probably mid mount the engine for less too

Would run like crap. It would be so bad to drive, BUT... To do it you would use some pieces of Ford Sierra. If you were paying we would charge like £10k, but if you were DIY'ing it then you could half that, maybe even less.

Na it wouldn't. It would take a lot of time but it's not unchartered teritory.

Easier with a 20XE as the bellhousing is readily available to use a Ford MT75 or T5 box.

16XE wouldn't have enough torque to make it worthwhile.

You could put the engine in the boot, but that's just as much hassle tbh, you'd need to either spaceframe it (like beardy's) or cut up another nova and weld the inner front wings into the back of the car, then you've still got to solve the gearlinkage issues and stuff like that.

and it will handle like poo as it's too short to make a good RWD car.
