basicly me mate has manged to put a con rod thro the block so after a new/second hand replacement engine, are all 1.4 16 valve ecotec engines all the same regardless if there out of a gls or a sport etc

pretty sure they are the same my mate put a 1.6 out of a astra in his when it blew up

yer all the same so are the 1.6 ecotechs as far as i know so if you fancy i bit more power get the 1.6 in there,

all the 1.4 eco's are the same, when replacing tho you need the transponder unit and key with the engine.

1.6's are 2 types, pre ecotec and ecotec.
