As promised, here are the pics from yesterdays event, before and after!! Unfortunately, none during the event as cameras weren't permitted at the event!!

Before, all nice and clean:

And then, how we brought it home!!!

That pic was about 110 last night!

Managed to get the roof aswell:

Also mirror:

So time for some proper cleaning today then:

Up on stands:

All clean again:

Unfortunately it didnt repair itself in the wash!!

Took the bumper off and the broken brackets, I will strip it properly tomorrow night:

So, basically we came in to the flying finish on SS6, it was a 45degree left, same as the previous 5 stages, but for some reason carried alot more speed into it, and turned into the corner far too late, and we ploughed straight through the metal barrier/gates that were marking the stage out. But nevertheless, I kept my toe in, got it back on track, and got over the finish line without losing any time!

47 cars started the event, 31 finished, and we got 13th overall and 1st in class, so thats has done very well for our championship hopes!

Next rally is 29th June, at Smeatharpe airfield again. Hoping to have Coilovers on the back by then as we're trying to get the back lower so she sits a bit more stable around some corners!

Watch this space...............

Its well on its way to being fixed. Front wings are now resprayed and fitted. I've made a bit of discovery with the bonnet, and its actually got a Carbon Fibre skin, so the colour scheme has now changed slightly! Pictures will be posted up soon. And my new Avo coilovers for the rear should be arriving tomorrow, so will get the pics up ASAP.
Cheers

As i promised, some pics of how she is now!!

New toys arrived today:

AVO Twin Tube Single adjustable, rear coilovers with 1.9" (i.d), 9" (length) springs. Ordered a second hand set earlier in the week, but they arrived with 2 1/4" x 12" springs, so didn't fit. So I spent a further £100 to get a brand new set.

New colour scheme for the bonnet, just awaiting a good mop session!

And just a couple of pics of how she sits now:

Just need a good testing session now to get the rear suspension tuned in and set up properly! It'll all be sorted soon.
Thanks for all the positive comments!

Its been ages since I've updated you all so here is a brief update. We've competed in 3 events since the last update!!

First event was at Smeatharpe on the 29th June, which we finished 1st in the class, and finished 16th Overall. Not too many problems to report from this event but here are a couple of pics:

Next event was on 12th July, at Colerne airfield near bath. Unfortunately, we managed to bend at least 2 valves on the first stage!!! That day ended very early for us!!

So only a couple of pics!

Main damage was on number one piston, but luckily only valve damage. This was after I cleaned it all up:

So the head went down to JRE Racing Engines in Plymouth to be skimmed, ported, polished, gas flowed and have the valves replaced:

Then refitted carbs and inlet manifold:

Then was refitted to car, rebuilt and all running in time for the next event.

Next event was on 26th July, at Keevil airfield near Warminster/Westbury. The day was very good, some hard competition and we were battling for 3rd in class all day with an ex-works Nissan Micra. But on the last stage, we lost 2nd gear, and bust a front shock absorber, luckily we got to the finish but came home with 4th in the class and 29th Overall.

A few pics from the day:

My main competition of the day:

A friend of mines Corsa, 2.0 RWD, finished 3rd overall and 1st in Class C:

And this is my very sorry looking gearbox:

Handful of teeth from the bottom of the box:

And some very sorry looking tyres!!

They'll do some more miles yet!!!

So, i'm off to pick up my new Tran-X Limited Slip Diff tomorrow, and get it all rebuilt in time for the 16th August when we return to Colerne for the Wugging Stages and try and get my championship hopes back again!!!

Until then....................

I'm using a standard F13 box, but fitted with a 4.18 CWP. I was so so so close to buying my friends Quaife F13 SCCR box with a 4.9 CWP and 90% Tran-X LSD, but couldn't quite come up with the money!! So, i'm just settling with the Tran-X LSD for now that I got today:

Time to go and rebuild it!!!
