Can someone tell me where the TPS and ICV are located on an X16XE please. Also, whats the best way to clean them? Carb or brake cleaner?

Carb cleaner and they are on the side of the TB matey.

Right hand side of the engine... follow the inlet manifold and you'll see it.

You'll need to take them off the clean them

PS.. Cleaning the TPS wont make any difference

Thanks for that Rob. It's mantzeled, so getting to them is easy enough.

The problem is lumpy idle and generally shitty running. Also high emissions on idle.

Take the ICV out and clean all the black shit off with carb cleaner.

Check you have no air leak or vacuum pipes split

Black relay? Pink relay?

Could be fuel pump relay on its way out.

Can you get a pic?

I don't know which relay it is thats clicking. I can only hear it. TBH, i haven't looked.

If the car is sat, the relay clicks. The car idles OK. Other times, it clicks and the car runs shit. I'll check to see which one it is.

It's mainly the tickover that's bothering me, as it failed MOT on idle emissions.

Took the ICV out today and cleaned it with carb cleaner. The car now idles 10 times better. Unreal how much crap gets stuck in there, no wonder it was spluttering it's arse off.
