My opinion no. Defence is sorted, keeper situation is good, just the firepower and left mid worries me.

left mid worries you!?? thats one of the only positions we have sorted IMO, joe cole was our best player last year, but is unfortunately injured at the mo!!

Exactly, he isn't playing so who do we have? Downing wwoooww
and ugly neville

Funny that, he covered more blades of grass than any other player for England at the World Cup, Fact.

The problem he has is the stigma attached to him borne of the media attention he attracts. He is an absolutely superb footballer who still possesses to this day the ability to cross Downing, Cole, Wright Phillips Lennon or any young one season wonder can only dream of.

MacCrapplen only dropped beckam because he was BIGGER than him, IMO Beckam worked the hardest of all our players, when everyone was down he was still running around like a blue arsed fly, and he is still the BEST dead ball specialist in the world. We need him to help build up the team. He has been the youngster with all eyes on him, hes fucked up and came through it we need him to help with the young lads we got. Who are they gonna learn from steady neville, i dont think so.

I also noticed our tw@ of a manger does what Sven used to do, we go a goal down and he just sits there, surely a manager should be up and encouraging the team, seeing as none of the player do (Beckam used to do this, thats why Sven didnt have to)

Rant over

and another thing with beckham, yes he wasnt the best defender, or as fast as swp, but he wanted to be there, what use is swp being as fast as he is then yesterday couldnt beat there left back to get a decent cross in, becks didnt need to go past some one to make room for a decent shot, becasue he couldnt, and he didnt have to

Watch ESPN Classic when they're showing old United games. Beckham does a lot more than people think.

McClaren would get a lot more respect if he turned round and admitted it wasn't working and reinstated Beckham. At least for any future friendlies. No one needs to be dropped if he comes back as I presonally would have him on the bench anyway.

Won't happen now anyway. The move to America saw to that.

A massive thank you to the FA for taking Steve Mclaren away from boro. They even paid us for it

Mclaren makes decisions based on the Media, dropping Beckham pleased them so he did it. he also dropped himk because Beckham was bigger than him. He did the same at boro with Juninho.

His tactics are poor and fails to play his 'best' players or form players.

Downing actually deserved his callup. He has been playing very well for boro in the last few months. people continue to slate him but his game isn't to take a full back on its to get crosses in.

im glad hes changed the team, they were all getting lackluster as they thaught there places were "safe" better that tehy have to fight for them, beckham should not be in the squad imo, do not bring him back!
but leave lampard the fat lazy twat in? if he scores 3 tonight, he will still do fuck all apart from a) waste shots from 30 yards b) waste tap ins

How the fuck is Lampard fat or lazy?

crap game, good goal.

the only players who looked any good last night were downing and richards when they came on. don't think we'll see dyer in an england shirt again. Foster did well too, and Rio gave himself a lot of freedom to go forward to help the cause.

other than that, shocking performance. but hey, only a friendly, means nothing.

Foster, Rio and Wright-Phillips for me. Woody wasn't too bad either.

It started to go really downhill when Gerrard went off imo.

TBH it just backs up why I hate watching England.

The manager is just another yes man, he has no tactical ideas and just shouldnt be there. I know people will say its just jumping on the bandwagon, blah blah but IMO this was obviously the case from day one.

I thought Barry done well when he came on. And Rio and woodgate played well. Everyone else was poor in my opinion.

Poor game from to potentially brilliant sides!

it was never going to be a good game though, why would players push themselves mid-week, half way through the season for a friendly?!!

carrick was apauling last nite, dont know how he justifies 18m but im sure spurs are laughing all the way to the bank.
Mclaren has no passion, i was delighted to see stuart pearce in the u21 game, real passion and want to be there, he would do that job for free if he could thats ho much being england manager means to him.
A recall for beckham is a must for these youngsters, they need some to look up to, not even having a role in the england team is a stupid idea. Beckham has put his all in to that team everytime he got called up and how they just passed him off and dropped him was terrible.
couple of decent playters last nite had god debuts.
i was much more intrested in the u21 game tho with palyers like Bentley, rcihardson, lita looking very good future prospects
