i changed my drums, fitted the new ones and put everything back together but i tightened the nut toooo much and i need to take the drum of as i forgot to put the ring in also!!!

and now i cant seem to get the damn wheel bearing out, its pushed right back, i can tap it back more then sort of pull it forward a little but thats it???
any ideas???
is their not a special tool that can be used to remove the rear bearing out??

a puller will get it off. or just use a big open end spanner behind it and prise it forward on the shaft.

a puller??

the drum is actually still fitted to the car, but i cant get it of because the front smaller bearing is jammed!
and because the cylinder is tight i cant get any tools inside to yank it out!

i cant even take the car to a garage either because cant drive it like that

either a slide hammer on the drum or can you unbolt the stub axle and take the drum/stub axle off in 1 and get it in a vice and have a go at it with a hammer?
depend which way round the bolts are tho im not sure .. i take it you have been prying and hitting the drum at the same time with a hammer etc?? allrdy?

yeah ive been tapping the bearing and trying to squeeze a screwdriver on the edge to pull it out!

ive got the drum itself loose but its just the bearing that is jammed and stopping the drum from sliding off!

is their no type of precision monkey wrench type of tool etc i could get??
which could squeeze into the small gap in the cylinder were the bearing is and allow me to grip it tight and turn it and yank it out??

didnt realise you meant the front bearing, its usually the rear that jams on the stub axle.

its either a case of unbolting the stub axle or smashing the bearing.

new bearings are about £7 for a complete set.

I would just use a strong screwdriver and try and prise the inner race of the bearing out in bits, this will cause the bearing to colapse and hopefully full off easily.

i think i am going to have to break the bearing some how!

will a chissle and hammer be enough to cut/break it??

i got the damn thing out lol

ended up having to break the outer edge of the bearing so all the bearings fell out, and then gave me enough room to wedge in the hook side of a hammer and pull it out!

it was quite badly jammed took a lot of force to pull out!!

anyway just need a new bearing now, and fingers crossed all should be fine after that

Had this prob on an old Ford some years ago. Totally cooked the rear bearing, so it wouldnt come out even with a sledghammer.
Solution. Put wheel back, with wheel nuts very loose, then did very rad turns, wheelies, etc. Soon heard a load thud. and the bearing will come out
Stop then though or wheel will completely fall off
