Does anyone know what the orange and yellow wires that arent attached to anything need to be connected to

Is an alpine unit going in

got a loom for the new unit, is attaching this to the cars original loom

Yeah got that bit. But the extra wires, are they connected to the HU loom or the car loom?

And does it work?

orange is illumination (90% sure)

yellow is ignition live

Correct...

Most Alpine 4x60w units will need their own permanent live.

The orange will either be illumination or mute, but it should say this in your installation manual.
