hey,

in the process of wiring up my amp - although my jvc headunit does not have a wire named 'remote' on the back with a bullet connector on it...all i have that is similar is a blue wire coming from the unit to the harness with 'power' written on it? is this the correct wire? should i scotch block the remote wire to it?

cheers

yes i would try this wire - in my experience they say either remote, power or arial. All you really need is a 12v feed

And it needs to be a switched 12V feed, so the headunit isn't on at all times.

But yes, the blue wire you have will be fine.

cool, decided just to go ahead with it earlier - snipped the blue wire and got ma date back on the mfd - woohoo!!

one more question, on my amp i have an lpf(80hz on/off switch and a level knob which goes from 0.3v to 6.0v - what do they mean and what should they be set at?

cheers again

the lpf is a low pass filter switch ( From Memory) or something like that - its there to allow only certain frequencies through (80hz or below i guess in this case), if you are running a sub off this amp then you need this to be on, if you're running speakers its beeter for it to be off

EDIT: Lower frequencies are Bass, higher are treble
