Will the MFD work without a headunit plugged in and if so, how do you do it? Thanks.

yes it will show the time/outside temperature.

check the connection at the back would be my first guess, otherwise try another one from a scrappy

Righto, maybe the loom is knackered on the back of it then and/or it's been pulled out wiping out all the connections.

yeh the loom is pretty weedy so probably quite easy to damage it.

also check the bulbs in the MFD as these have a tendency to blow along with the bulbs behind heater panel

Yeah I need to do at least 2 bulbs behind the switches so likely the MFD ones are gone too.
