Hi there. Got the exhaust replaced the other day because it was blowing. Now it is decently quiet u can hear whats going on, and everytime i go over the smallest bump with either someone in the passenger seat or especially in the back, i get this awful graunching noise. Also when cornering slowly (in carparks for example) all the while the wheel is turned (with someone in the back) it sounds like something is strained. The car is completely standard.
Because of the symptoms i reckon its something to do with the suspension. Ive looked at it from front back and sides and it doesnt seem to be lower on one side (being a knackered spring) so could it be suspension bushes?
Any help appreciated
Cheers

I got the mechanics to look at the exhaust hitting the rear beam and they tightened up the fixings under there. It doesnt knock as much anymore, cos when it is was first fixed it did knock so i went straight back and asked them to sort it. but now its a really nasty noise.
any way of checking shocks and springs without jacking car up, and ill go and see now.
Cheers

If the mechanics have done work and it has come back with new symptoms then they have done something most likely.
Probably the exhaust yeah

the backbox was so loud before though, could i have just missed it also, such things as coincidences, especially with a 12 year old car?

i bought a SS backbox and ive had it on and off 4 times to stop it ratteling, ive sorted it now though, just push the centre section up as high as you can then nip the clamps up realy tight, (make sure the clamp has the fat part where the nuts are, at the top)

Lost count of the number of times I've tried to stop mine knocking and it's been on about 4-5 months. Need to borrow my mates ramps so the axle is sat normal instead of hanging cos the cars on stands.
