Whats the size difference and how hard are they to get them fit?

Also how good are the m-teck rear disk convertion kits and how hard are they to fit?

So how have people had them on 4 stud fitment then?

Have seen atleast 1 corsa which was 4 stud which had the v6 brakes on

Ive just bought a set. I use the V6 calipers and brackets and pads from a vectra. The size of the discs needed is 288mm.

The fiat coupe turbo has 4 stud 288mm discs so i am using them so they fit straight on without having to re-drill the discs. I think the holes for the 4 sutds just has to be drilled 1mm bigger for the bolts to fit through but im not sure.

Or you can buy a special kit from LMF but thats v.expensive. Im going to be fitting my brakes today so ill let you know how i get on.

LMF kit is £215 for Discs, NEW calipers, and pads.

Well worth it, discs are drilled to fit, come ready to go on, the calipers are perfect, as they're new, and the pads are new.

Not worth the hassle of buying second hand really, it'll cost you only a bit less after you've refurbed the calipers, had the discs drilled and bought new pads.

Don't forget to buy braided hoses too, you'll need them.

dude i had the v6 setup on mine with braided hoses-mint brakes.

Never had the chance to come out in yours

Im sure they'll be 100 times better than the standard 1.4 brakes

V6 brakes are defo worth the green back you will spend on them. Bought some red dot grooved discs (288mm) with some new V6 callipers and pads of LMF for £250, stops on a penny, and a peice of piss to fit.

V6 and Callibra turbo brake setups are the same iirc.

V6 are 288mm discs
Turbo are 284mm discs.

Performance is about the same.

Both are 5stud and need re-drilling to 4stud.

288 are cheaper to get discs/pads for.

TBH having tried about every upgrade under the sun, V6 brakes are crap. The pedal travel is bloody awful. Fine for progressive track use, but for use on the road they are shit.

A decent pad/disc set up on ATE 2.0 callipers with 256mm discs is far better.

correct, I used them for about 5000 miles, quite hard driving, and there was no wear at all. very impressed, wouldn't have needed pads for about 2 years I reckon. Amazing really, for the money.

So which version of the 'V6' callipers did you have?

Whichever version you had, you should notice pedal issues.

Brakes operate from displacing fluid. 'V6' brakes have a far larger piston surface area, requiring a far greater amount of fluid to be moved, therefore the pedal moves further.

Only way around it is to re-fulcrum point the brake pedal or alter the bar for the pedal box.

You could get a 1/8" larger master cylinder but I cannot find an off the shelf generic one. The Corsa has 2 types of master cylinder, ABS or non ABS - thats it.

I had the LMF ones, 288mm, vectra calipers.

I had NO pedal issues, I am telling you, not debating.

My pedal was hard, and was fantastic on the road.

But I would appear to be wrong, it MUST have had a pedal issue.

easiest and cheapest would be to go down the scrappy and get a set of veccy 5stud front brakes (288mm) u'll need discs/pads and the calipers with the brackets, shoudl be able to pick this lot up for around £25, your best bet would be to find a set of spigot rings (think they are available on here for around £15) then get them re-drilled by a local machine shop, i would say £10 a disc is reasonable to re-drill them to 4 stud. nice and very cheap 4 stud v6 brake set up..
