I'm setting up a wireless network at the school i work in and want to know if its possible to "team" wireless access points so they appear as a single SSID on the "View wireless networks window"

This is so they can walk out of the range of one WAP and instaltly be connected to the next.

i will be deploying 5 WAP's around the site

Any ideas?

Aj.

Just put them on the same SSID but different channels.

You should spread the channels as far apart as possible as channels overlap. Use channels, 1, 7 and 13 for example.

Thanks Tim.

I thought it be along the lines of that.

Yeah

For your Uni report you should mention that you would apply multiple layers of security.

On the WAP's i'm about to install, i've chosen WEP and MAC filtering

I have to tell each WAP which NIC's to allow communication through them. So if they crack the key they still can't get in easily.

Yup I've used WPA2 and Mac filtering.
