What a twat of a rally at Albermarle
1 lap of first stage and car started missing would not pull so we had to retire

Tried another crank sensor no different, when i got it home took bottom pulley off and it had sheared the keyway. So new pulley and timing gear pulley with 2 x dowl pins fitted and all is ok ready for next event in Penrith 26th August hope to get further this time.

Unfortunately my fellow Tynemouth Motor club members didnt do to well either Stu rolled and Gary put a rod through the block but that works for me in the tarmac chamionship.

Hard luck to Neo who was out for his first co drive and retired also.

I was told by my mate to pin it but thought it would be ok

Since then found out it is apparently a common problem also when i got the parts from Vauxhall they said there was a modification to replacement ones, i have looked at the original and new ones but cant see any difference.

My advice is to put 1 if not 2 pins in so it cant happen again

Crikey, that looks like quite a sponsorship deal you've got going with Pirtek judging by the colour and livery. I'm familiar with them because we deal with them a lot where I work.

Didn't realise they sponsored at all. If you don't mind me asking, how did you manage it, and do they contribute much?

What a cracking first time on Pendragon, with Ken Bills first time on Pendragon and in with me i was a little aprehensive him usually sitting in WRCs. So it was good to hear he really enjoyed it after the first stage.

Our event began with very nearly roll over a R7 over crest we went wide up an embankment but with my skill and judgement (shut my eyes ) we managed to stay on. We had not realised but bent the nearside beam and had a few deg pos camber but to be honest didn't really notice. The rest of the day i pushed as hard as could and was gobsmacked when Ken said we were lying 29th and 3rd in class.

So out for the last two i wanted to finish but didnt want to back off and very nearly threw it away a L9 unseen and we were heading for the ditch using the previous skill and judgment i managed to get round and finished 28th OA 2nd in class

Next event Otterburn 9th Sept fix the beam spanner check and away we go again

There's a couple of photo's of your car on the British Rally Forum from the Pendragon stages, just incase you haven't seen them?
