Cheers Rick, no we haven't... We're taking the roof skin off which we think will give us enough room to.

But i've got a horrible feeling your just about to tell me different

Even with the skin off mine mate there was not enough room. Nic Barnes has some good pics of him doing his, you need a couple of ratchet straps.

what we have done in the past and i believe its how most do it, put the car on a ramp etc then cut holes in the floor for the front section to lower down as you raise the car this will allow you to weld around the top etc once finished lower car back and plate the bottom, but seeing as you ve welded the bottom in already you may struggle from the top

what cage is that?

UPDATE:

3rd Nov 2010

The Astra now has Coilovers.... AP Coilovers to be exact

The rear lower damper bolt sheared in the beam. Doh! So a trip to the local garage was in order to get some serious heat into it to get it out

Good aren't they the AP coilovers, when people finally cotton onto the fact they are seriously decent for the money they will raise the price

They have loads over the two years they have been on sale Iv had two brand new sets now, and will buy another. Must stress you grease the adjusters though, like most coilovers I suppose

Haha, I'm also on my second set Had them on the Fabia and was very impressed so decided to fit them to the Astra.

Been driving around with them for the past week and once again they are spot on! Ride quality is massively improved over the Billy's I was running with stupidly low springs (Yes this caused the bad ride and not the shocks I know). They are however on the "softer" side of coilovers but with uprated ARB's thats soon sorted.

These ones on the Astra also have slotted bottom holes (to allow for Camber adjustment) which is a nice addition. £460 delivered. Bargain

Anyone thinking of a decent well priced Coilover setup.... You won't be dissapointed with these.

Love the snow pics

What billy coilovers did you have? b14s?

Iv been looking into for some coilovers for my B but for day to day use no track sessions or anything and have been recommended the Bilstien PSS B14 coilovers but now have seen a few people commenting on these AP coilovers.

Are they a comfortable ride for general road use?

I currently have shite jamex shocks with apex -60mm springs.

Looks identical to the one that was put into my old Corsa and my mates Nova, so I'd it's from Custom Cages...

Cheers guys, yeah it's a Custom cages rollcage. Modified a little with extra Gussets. My mate Johnny's welded it in for me, can't thank him enough.
