when u rekon this little baby will be up and running? sounds like an awesome project, one of my mates tb'd his let engine was ok just alot of fiddling!!!

today, i found enough room to squeeze the charger in, at an angle, by removing the aircon radiator i have, fitting a non-aircon one as far forward as possible (aircon one wont go as far forward due to extra width) then cut up an old thermostat housing, to use the flange with pipe welded to it, to move the thermostat somewhere else

or bodging, depends how you look at it really.
i have the bmw/MINI etk, tis and electrical ciruits programs on my computer also now, so i have part number for all gaskets i need.
i plan to purchase the proper mini inlet pipe to fit the charger, with take-off for recirculating d/v to stop hoses blowing off at idle. sop it looks FAIRLY factory fitted

with the intention of having the switches to control other functions:

from left to right:

boot release (delocked boot)
spare
ecu on/off
coil on/off
fuel pump on/off
engine start

IF i can get it to work. theory being the window switches are push to make switches, and the rest latch either on/off cant see why it wont.
and it will be fitted to a z18xe when i find one. wanted to make sure i can fit the charger in before i buy the new engine etc.
even came up with an idea of bolting it above the engine, with a huge power bulge in the bonnet

only thing is, i'd of bodged the LED too, so it wouldnt work, or would come on at random intervals causing me to unload my bowels for no reason

Same as, reminds of the Dutch bloke who charged his XE(?) Astra - sounded amazing but was plagued with problems from what i remember.

Whats the figures of the 1.8/1.6 standard? And rob, what are you hoping to achieve with the charger?

Btw rob, with the ongoing updates any chance of cost of conversion/spent (engine, mapping, general work etc)? I know the figure of 1.5-2.7k is floating about, but would be pretty interesting of costs for parts etc as it's a tempting project

standard 1.6 16v 100-109bhp depending on variant
standard 1.8 16v 125bhp i think

i currently have a conservative 150bhp from the 1.6, so should see 180bhp with the TBs on the 1.8, so aiming for well over 200bhp

IIRC Paul, Rob wanted to use a FMIC of some sort, to allow for a bit more boost.

which parts are alloy? the 2 air ducts?
i was planning on modding them anyway, as i wont be able to fit them in any other way, and yes FMIC would be used
