£144 inc next day delivery. can go for upto £200 though, especially the 5th gen version like i have with teflon coated rotors

i darent think about cost yet. it wont be cheap though i dont think
worst bit will be lowering the compression so it doesnt blow up

i think thats a little optimistic, if it was just charging the standard engine then yes

well...

engine - £450
charger - £200
pipes + plenum - £200 (if you make them)
Throttle body - £100 for a decent size one
Management and mapping - £1000
Pistons - £400
other bits (FPR, manifolds, gaskets)- £400

so £2750 for just the Z18 and a charger, if you fit it yourself and you have no bits.

Rob has management though, and some other bits, which is why I reckon he can do it for 1500 quid

i'd say thats about right

im hoping to find a z18xe, with the cat as part of the manifold and use that instead of my 4>1, readon being keeping it MOT able etc. with a custom centre pipe from the manifold flange back to the backbox

My garage is empty. when you get the engine, if you need somewhere to store it, you can borrow (rent) some space...

so i get an engine from up here, bring it down to you where i cant work on it (and no doubt you will fiddle having nothing to do all day) only to have to come and fetch it again?

thats the right engine, is a x18xe1 by the age of it. right sort of mileage too, not too high, but not that low it would be a waste to strip it down. shame im skint until next month

it is 6sq/m, but its a crap shape, its 2x3, with about .5 taken up at the back with racking.

sunday 26th november:

charger wont fit behind the block, its almost as wide as the block itself
next plan is to see if i can move the radiator forwards enough so it fits between the radiator and exhaust manifold, mounted to a custom bracket onto the engine mount

why dont you get a rotrex as you can get a very small unit which produces alot of power. I know of somebody who has charged there ignis using a rotrex and they have got figures of 175ish bhp.

they're a lot more money, and they don't whine, I presume they were the 2 reasons he's gone for the cooper s one.

yes, the rotrex ones are alot more expensive, and IMO are a bodge of a turbo and an alternator pulley. also, the turbine type supercharger produce their power higher up the rev range, whereas the roots type i have gives more low to mid range power.

and i'm aiming for slightly more than 175bhp
