Thought I'd start a progress thread before making major progress, so I can update it as I go along.

Basically, after swapping my Nova for a Corsa SRi, I found myself needing a replacement car, in a hurry. I had a budget of about £5k, and literally 3 days to find a car

I wanted to buy from a dealer, so I got a warranty etc, so I went to my local one, and drove a 1.2 16v 5 door Corsa C, which was terrible . I decided I needed a 1.4, so I went looking for one.

There wasn't really much about near me, but a few miles further afield, in Daventry, was an 03 plate 1.4 Elegance, with 29k on the clock, with warranty, for a good price.

I got £300 for the SRi (so I effectively lost LOADS on the Nova, as it was a straight swap for this), and Danetre Vauxhall offered to put a years MoT on the car too.

So, the next weekend, I went and picked it up. (you can see the SRi in the background of the first pic)

I got it home, and decided to clean it, and take a few more pics.

The engine, a Z14XE, feels nippier than my B did when it was standard.

The felt interior is the only major drawback with it though... it's horrible

So, anyway, RobHayes bought something off me, can't remember what now think it might have been my old K-Mac ARB from the Sport, and as part of the payment, he bought me these lovely SXi/SRi rear lights.

Before -

After -

Since then, I've debadged the doors, and replaced the rippled side trim on the drivers side rear quarter. The badge on the drivers door was superglued on so it was an absolute ballache to get the glue off without damaging the paint

Thats pretty much it so far, but when the chap turns up with a wad of notes for the Mini, I will get down to business, ordering some lowering springs, wheels and a backbox. I also plan to fit an SRi or SXi + interior, to replace the granny felt one, and get an SRi rear spoiler, and SRi foglights with lower grilles, to make it look a bit better. Hopefully the wheels and suspension will make it go round corners without feelinf like it's going to topple over too

I'll update the thread as I go along, to make it a bit more interesting

Sorry it's a bit dull at the moment

Rich, I was used to a bit more power than the 1.2, I drove one and it was too slow

I also drove and easytronic, which was THE worst car I've ever driven

Couldn't find one quicky enough Marc

It'll be better than a 1.4 SRi when I'm done anyway.

Indeed. £685 to buy wheels, tyres, backbox and exhaust...

anyway, the Jamex springs I had before were great, and cheap.

Yeah, I was watching a leather interior from an Exclusiv on Ebay, but it's gone to £500 with over an hour left

So, I'll be replacing it with an SRi or SXi + one, depending on what I can find, then getting an SRi rear spoiler, and possibly a Steiny front lip, if i can find one...
