I just did it with a spare sim I had lying around and got a text back telling me I was getting £30 for free

I'm sure you lot have spare sims from those freebie giveaways O2 do every other week

1.Get new sim card.


2.Send an SMS from existing handset with existing SIM Card to 865555 with the Mobile Phone Number that came with your new SIM Card (e.g. 07999123456) as the message.


3.O2 will send back a message confirming your upgrade( but of course you have not upgraded just got a sim)and tell you your free calltime credit amount.


4.The calltime credit will be applied to your existing phones calltime balance in 14 days. The new SIM card and new mobile phone number will then be disconnected.You retain and use your existing sim,your existing number, calltime balance, Bolt Ons etc.


5.Once calltime credit has been applied, bin the new SIM Card

Doesnt work with the cards I got from a while ago, message says,

"Yr upgrade could not be confirmed. Please call 5450 from your old mobile 2 register yr upgrade and claim yr 5450 upgrade reward"

Any ideas how i can word it to blag free money from the sims i got?

You need to have been using the 'original sim' you're trying to topup for at least 9 months. Each £50 you've topped up you get £5 back, so if i got £30 that must mean i've topped up £300 Mrs got £35

I just tried this on my old PAYG SIM card and got £5, got £3.13 credit on there at the moment, so I'll have £8.13 within the next 14 days!

hmmm, ive had my PAYG sim for about 4 years and ive prob topped it up about £80 in the last 2 months let alone the last 9 months

I tried with 1 sim, worked straight away, thought i'd try and get some more with 4 or 5 more sims and get rejected on all of them. Weird really because they were from the same Batch as the other one. Oh well, got a tenner on the way still
