Its been lowered 35mm on Apex springs and KYB shocks. Don't think I'll be lowering it any further as it handles really well as it is.

GSi spoiler is in the garage waiting to go on. Will probably semi-smooth the tailgate and fit the spoiler just after PV.

Picking up a Mongoose exhaust system at PV now too

I know the last post was 4 months ago but I'm doing pretty much the same thing as you now.
Just taking the e16se apart for the head gasket, rings and cam belt to be changed.
Thank vauxhall for designing a very simple engine to work on

Hope the rebuild is going well Sunz

A bits happened since I last updated the thread:

* Bought a later E16SE to rebuild over winter, tweak a bit and fit to the car.
* Car now has a 4 branch manifold and a de-cat, which joins nicely to the Mongoose system.
* Had ripped the interior out and fitted harnesses, but have since put everything back in again, lol.
* Back of the cars now lowered 60mm, front may follow shortly, depending how my newly refurbished Astra GTE rims look (painted black with a slight silver metal flake).

Pics will follow this weekend after its been rolling roaded

Ha ha, the DVLA will be on to you soon thinking you're a trader. The astra sounds cool.

Good to see the updates still coming on the little "beast" as the ex used to call it

When the 1.2 was in it i had a 1.4 Astra and she was pushing me up hills, the Corsa was quicker

I'd have kept that Mk2, looks very clean (especially for being Red, ie not faded)

Pics of recent exhaust work:

Also stuck some Lockwood dials in the other night:

Thanks Phil, its a brilliant little car. Still really enjoying owning it and will continue to have it for some time to come (well, until I save up for an Astra VXR).

really nice car mate yu have 2 do us all a favour..dont colour code your bumpers. looks mint as it is, all you need to do is lower profile tyres, lower it a little bit more then it will

Thanks jij_mellow_yellow

Once I've finished refurbishing the Astra GTE wheels, I'll be treating them to some nice 185/60/14 tyres, which will be the correct profile for the car. Hopefully should lower it a bit more as well as looking a million times better!

Don't worry, the bumpers won't get painted. Much easier to have them in the black plastic. A quick once over with Autoglym bumper gel and the they look ok.
