ive got a four quid alternator suppressor from halfords but which is the main output wire on the alternator?cuz it sez to use a reader(cant think of the name) to check the wire. that runs 12v only when the engine is running i think, whcih wire is it?

Its the thick wire from the alternator that goes to your battery.
One small wire will go into the loom, one thick wire will go to earth (the block) and the other will be the one ur after.
