Firefox still has incomplete support for HTML 4.01, XHTML 1.1 and CSS 2.1 IIRC.
The Acid2 test is evidence of that; both Opera and Safari pass without fault.

im not blowing the firefox horn, its fooking bloated to hell - but its faster than IE (once running) which is the main thing.
If you want to see a cack browser, then have a look at seamonkey. Its a lot faster than anything on the market, but its poo on cookie managment and parsing certain data like SSH - so shite when doing online banking or paypal etc
Tbh, havent used opera for ages, and even then that was on my mobile! Found the pc version to be slow to load and just as bloated as firefox. Maybe they have changed a lot over the last few years!

The reason your site isn't viewing well in browsers other than IE might be down to the fact you haven't specified any positioning attributes in your CSS.
Try setting your main div's as relatively positioned in your CSS file.
I would personally forget using tables - they are a thing of the past and just bloat your pages with unnecessary code (making the pages bigger in size). It might be harder to master div layers, but you have a lot more control over how your website looks when designing this way.
If you want the easy root - make your site in tables.
And the worst think you could do is design your site purely around IE (like somebody mentioned).

Hello Bartman.
ITs been a while since i've spoke to you. I recently graduated uni and i'm working for a company that developes alot of websites that provide mobile content. We use ASP.net for our solutions which i'm learning new stuff for all the time.
I thought i knew alot about creating developing websites, but i've been suprised.
Seeing as your site is a company site mate, i would ensure you get it working in the top most used broswers IE, FF, Opera, Netscape and Safari. I think Opera is supposed to be the broswer that follows standards most accurately, and IE alot of the time does silly things you don't want it to do(like centering text/tables etc). Its good to test in these browsers when ever you make any changes beause if you do it after you've completed your site, it can become a headache.
Also IE6 & 7 do different things which i found out today when i had a div alignment issue.
I mostly use tables for the layout of the sites i've worked on because divs can be a pain when trying to get them to line up correctly in most broswers. But the positioning of divs using absolute and relative is very useful.
Alot of people frown on frames but in some cases they can reduce the size of the site.
Anyway i think the site looks great mate. I do like the top banner. Does look very well done.
Only thing i might do is reduce the transparency on the bridgesltd.co.uk text so that the right hand side is little more obvious. Only very slightly though because its a nice effect.
And i may play with the curved corners a bit so they look a bit smooter. No one browsing the site would notice it and i only mess with things like that cos i'm fussy 
Other than that everything looks really clean and tidy and the navigation is really well done. Noticed your using strict xhtml which is a good thing to do. We switched our core system other day from transistional to strict and we got endless warnings
Also the google maps thing is a nice touch.

.Net is the way forward, you using 1.1 or 2.0?
C# or VB?
Also who do you work for? I worked as a .Net web developer at Barclays for a year.
