basscrazy, when i fully smoothed in a prowler kit a few months ago i made loads of brackets which attached to bumpers/skirts/arches then they attached to the car and brackets along all the joins aswell, it certainly worked because the lad has hit a few kerbs and theres still no cracks showing

i agree if u make loads of brakets etc and stop all flex then it wont crack for while, i just think something somewhere will crack sometime when everything is smoothed

once done i really cant be getting it blown in all the time its gonna be flip so not right easy like iaz says a crack will find a way to get through somewhere... i want a not high maintenence one

it will obviously eventually crack, but i used fibreglass matting and resin over the joins and underneath too, then used fibrefill, then filler over the top, just tried to make it last as long as possible really

well you've just answered your own question then, if you want it low maintenace then i wouldn't smooth any of it in, just bond arches and skirts on

yea thats wot i think is best, lest u can garantee the car will look how it should for longer! i dont mind smoothing things on my cars cos when they crack if can sort them and dont cost loads!

sorry about hijacking thread iaz, but basscrazy if your car going to be a daily driver? if so i wouldn't go for flip, stone chips to the death, lol, would need touching up all the time to look good, but touching up flip stands out

no, but if the cars flip painted then you'll want to keep it looking good wouldn't you, i know i'd probs end up spraying the front end every month to get rid of stone chips, lol

on hitmans car i had to blow the paint in on the spoiler and wing where i managed to burn through paint rushing buffing the car before max power live and u cant tell now where its been blown in!

also got to blow paint in on the wings when i get it back again and its not to hard really, i thought it wud be near impossable till i just had a go!

i did kinda mean spraying over a section to get rid of stone chips, i had a car come in bout 3 weeks ago that was flip, and had been touched up along one side and you could spot it straight away

anyway, i just wouldn't bother putting flip on a car you'll use alot, too many nobheds about who don't give a shit about other peoples things
