iv got K&N, drilled the fook out the bottom of the box, removed the pipework from the lid of the box and added a cold air feed, sounds kinda like a scooby around 2k rpm. i could feel the difference in my 1.6

I had a PVD one on my 1.4 and you needed to rev it a bit more than before when setting off as there was a flat sport. I've no experience of one but I'd go for a Viper/Black Mamba because of this.

for pure sound K&N, for better driveablity modify the airbox (remove top and bottom pipes in box) and drive a few holes on the wing side with a panel filter

take your standard airbox out. the side closest to the wing of the car theres a part of the airbox that looks like its on its own. on eariler boxes this comes off later versions ull have to cut it off then run an airfeed into that space and down the wheel arch. that way its got sound and the air feed isnt anywhere by the nasty hot engine
