To me "the most iconic" hatchback would surely be the one that started the hatchback scene, so I'd say the Mk1 Golg GTi would be it, not a french tin can

i wouldnt say the one that started it, but the one that stands out as the ultimate hatch imo.

I've had a tinkle with a williams before.
I'm guessing his was standard. My car was pulling away on the straights.
Not that much in it.

I have driven both and trying not to be biased, the corsa has a totally different power delivery, a lot more agressive and raw, you get that instant pull anywhere in the rev range whereas the willy seems to be a little more refined and tamed. it is a quick car but after numerous tests and battles i can confirm my corsa feels faster and pulls harder, but the willy handles soo much better and is nicer to drive (slightly more relaxing)

Yeah I kinda had to point that out.
I really dont care about the arguement and I wont be able to afford one in a long time, never been in one but the facts must be put forward!!

how many races (bar the strip) occur on long straight roads anyway??
Personally i would have thought that the two would be pretty evenly matched in a straight line as power to weight must be similar?? however round bends i would certainly expect the williams to have an advantage.
clio vs corsa day anyone??

Yes they are good round bends, but unless you know how to drive "Properly" it doesnt make a blind bit of difference, for instance, i can drive my corsa against my mate in the clio and beat him hands down be it on straights and corners, but i can also drive his clio and beat my corsa on the same section of road. its all really in the drivers ability, knowing how a car will respond when pushed hard and how to react when you start pushing it beyond its limits.

If your pushing it beyond its limits, you just sit there and see where you end up.
knowledge where your racing is essential too.

Why is there so much badge snobbery? It happens with everyone. If it's a good car, accept and appreciate it
'Steve 740' clearly feels strongly about Corsa engine conversions-
'The willy would eat the corsa alive. I remember doing a red top corsa conversion and afterwards wondering why the customer bothered! Didnt feel quick at all. Piece of sh*t'
Another interesting quote from someone called 'Chewy'-
'Now excuse me while i go spit on a vauxhall.'
Every forum has internet warriors, what a shame.
