Mists mate has a Clio Williams and its not as quick and doest feel as torquey as an XE espescially from a rolling start. He even gets annoyed at this fact.

Had quite an interesting play with one before and a 172, just pipped the 172 but as Steve mentioned throw a hard corner into the equation and its a different ball game

I used to reguarly race my mate who had a williams clio, from standing start he used to come past me pretty quick, then around 70-80 i started to pull on him, overtaking him when we get past about 100.

There fitted to a different engine... C20LET, don't try to take them out and you need the LET ECU as well, just get all the engine with the ECU and put that in Much easier

williams clios have trick bits like wider track than the standard clio 16v etc,

They are pritty much the same in a straight line as a standard red top corsa...but who has a standard red top and you can get loads more power (pound per pound from the vauxhall engine) My clio 172 will outhandle most stuff on the road but a willimas will run rings round it.

If it was 1/4 mile times i wanted id go for the corsa and round a track the clio

I think it is iconic, and as far as hot hatches go thats an achievement

However I'd say the Golf GTi was just as iconic if not more so? Or Mini Cooper? Or 205 GTi? Or the Lancia Delta Intergrale?

Shall I continue?

The Williams Clio was the point when they became a little crazier than usual in terms of smaller hatchback cars. Iconic doesn't mean its the fastest though, I've beaten them in my Corsa, along with 182's, CTR's etc etc etc

Would a 2.0 Corsa have been featured in Evo? Of course not, because they are built by people once they've left the factory. Would be unfair on the other cars

This is going to be a very biased argument on both forums. Some people on there seem like they are attempting educated guesses without really being educated on the subject

IE not driven both types of cars, so God knows why they are bothering to make a point when they simply guessing
