my car has recently started to rev itself. when i stop at a junction or im pulling into my drive it wont go below 2k and then revs itself upto 3k would it be drawing air in from somewhere?

read out the faultcode..

my guess is the air mass sensor in the intake being buggy..

but paperclipping is knowing.. so go read out the ecu before reinventing the wheel again...

My car did that,turned out to be false air/air leak.The pipe beneath the throttle body had a 3cm gap/hole on it.Replaced it and the car runs fine now.

my mates clio sport did that, turned out to be his idle control valve.

had this before on a 1.4 sport, was the pipe on the right of the rocker under the inlet had split, and was drawing air

icv valve or air flow meter if you have one
