you went overdrawn, it was your fault, the bank have the right to charge.

but try and get the charge taken off as it can work. dont send that letter tho, its bollocks. just ring them and explain. ask why they agreed to make the payment in question if there wasnt enough funds in the account to do so.

The bank don't have a right to charge.
That letter does work if anybody happens to read the site instead of saying its bollocks.

Yes it used to work and it may still work with some banks but more and more are starting to act as per my previous post.....

What the banks are doing is illegal though.
And who cares if the account is closed, there will undoubtedly be a better one to move to anyway.

You're legally allowed to claim back for the last 6 years. If you know your charges, great, if not, just write to the bank and ask for a list of all charges that they've made.

Everytime i go overdrawn at Natwest, i ring them or call in and tell them that the charges take the piss.

They always refund it. I have never paid a charge in my life. that's with Natwest BTW.

Gonna give my bank a ring as i got my first charge for accidently using my old accoutn chequebook which ends in 9317 instead of my new one which ends in 3117 so pretty similar and easy to make mistake. serves me right tho for keepin old accounts open that i dont use.
