some facts:

Subaru Impreza WRX Sport Wagon
0-60: 6.8
1/4 Mile: 15.2
bhp: 220
power to weight: 165bhp per tonne

my corsa:

0-60: 6.0
1/4 Mile: 14.2
bhp: 170
power to weight: 191bhp per tonne

My brakes are 4pots with 30mm discs, his are 2 pot boggo standard jobbies.

my suspension is a full bilstein tarmac rally set-up, designed for track use. The scooby has standard 11 year old suspension.

have your your 0-60 and 1/4 mile actully been tested at thet? i would say from those numbers the corsa would be quicker round a track.

steve please remove your anti-corsa tinted glasses. Corsas are used in rallying are they not? some work can be done on a standard shell to make it a hell of a lot more fun to drive

the corsa in question has not had the said work done on the shell, it needs to be a widetrack shell for a start to make it any good

Took the P1 out last night - The Tein kit is going on today with new pillowball top mounts so I wanted to give the car a thrash so I remember how it was before - Sort of a benchmark for comparison.

Anyway I was behind my mates T5 and in front of him was a yellow nova on the Stockport bypass - looked pretty tidy really from what I could see. When the lights changed the nova launched one and my mate in the T5 followed and to be fair up to about 110mph my mates T5 couldnt make an inch on this Nova - then we hit the round about and we both passed it with ease. We then came into some bends with a few straights and I reckon after about 2 miles the Nova couldnt be seen!

When we pulled up further down the road the nova was a 2 litre - Does anyone know the car????

Are you gonna get a cheap thrill if everyone agrees you can beat it?

So sad. I love how scoobies are the benchmark for speed.

seems times haven't changed at all, questioning steves lack of track outings.

Steves right tbf. Due to the corsa having lower arms and not wishbones means its not right cracking handling wise

Lets be honest... 4x4 4 wheels getting traction.. Scooby is obv going to be better all round corsa will be more nimble but if you were to start uprating Scooby susspension then that's another storey.

If you put an extension on a scooby it probably wouldn't handle too well.
