plugged the speakers into the back of the pc, into the MB sound thing, and i cant figure out how to get it to work, any ideas?

Check the driver is in etc.

look like the audio drivers for your onboard sound card arent installed, what make is the motherboard?

go into device manager, find the audio device and install the drivers for it, or run the mobo installation disk as other people suggested

thought i'd already tried doing that with the cd that came with the MB, but obvioiusly i only imagined it
