Drove through a set of traffic lights - car turned itself off, like a stall then after I pulled over it wouldn't fire up again
Starter motor sounded fine etc, but at first it tried to fire but popped; sounded like unburnt fuel in the exhaust
after about 10 mins could only get the starter motor - nothing past that!
RAC came out- they reckon its the flywheel sensor?
just had new Distributor/sparkies and few other bits!
oh its been misfiring at higher revs - but very occasionally and only on motorways in 4th/5th
any ideas - does Flywheel sensor sound like a possibility?

oh after RAC came - we turned it over with peddle flat to the floor for about 2 mins - it coughed and spluttered into life - then RAC man followed me home for 2/3 miles and the car ran fine - almost to the point of saying that it ran better than it ever has done - stopped at lights. turned car off and back on again and it was fine completely?

it might b that there is no compression in ur cylinders. do a compression test n c if that comes up with anything. If its lower than the haynes manual says it may b the piston rings

If it was down to compression it wouldn't just suddenly start to run completley fine.

If there was no compression the car wouldn't start working normal again
