just tuck my plugs out to look at them and they have a white power on the top of them does this mean the car is running rich or lean and what can i do to sort it out.

rich is black deposit on a plug i think

sounds like you need to try a brand new set of decent plugs and check it again was it on all 4 plugs or just 1?
