PiperX or K&N?
and do they make any significant difference?

panel filter with a proper cold air feed to the airbox is better than both of those

Got a BMC carbon air box on mine, sounds really well and is more responsive than it used to be.
worth a look at, they are similar to the vipers

ive had K&N, piperX and BFO (pvd one) foam ones were not very good and sounded rubbish. K&N sounded good and gave me no flatspots so i would go for the better sounding one considering neither will give you perfomance gain of more than 2bhp MAX
