hi all, just got myself an sri 16v corsa b and the brakes are absolutely crap.

the pedal almost touches the floor before anything happens and even then it aint much and as you can imagine my stopping distances have trebled!

eventually i will be fitting 2l brakes but i need to sort this out first, ive bled the system and tried a different servo (not know working tho) and still rubbish. i got the servo from the scrap yard so obviously this could be nackered too but just thought id see if anyone else has any more suggestions before buying a new one

thanx in advance

Have you checked for a leak in the system, and your calipers are working properly and not seized?.

TBH i would take it into a garage asap - i had this with my corsa, intended to get it checked out but before i had chance (a few days) the brakes stopped working all together.

This was due to one of the slave cylinders (at the rear) leaking which meant there was no compression in the system.

Definatley get it checked out ASAP!!!

edit: at hte time my handbrake light was staying on constantly - thats another system to look out for. Might be worth checking brake brake fluid too

ifthe rear shoes arent adjusted up properly that will affect pedal travel.

Is the pedal feel improved if you pull the handbrake on?
