I have one of those blocks for rubbing down woodwork,

i think these are better for rubbing down large areas and getting a smooth finish with no waves

for masking, usually i just put 2 inch masking tape over the rubber seals aroudn windows and have it overlapping abit and then just run a blade aroudn the edge of the seal and you get a perfect mask on the seal, and on my mates corsa when spraying high build over whole car, we wound down front windows, took out rubbers and door cards and masked the inside of door were door card was and them just masked up from inside the car so we could open the doors whilst spraying to get along the top of sill were the sideskirts had been smoothed in and all the door shut could be done, i found it really easy to prime the whole car like this
