how thin is the corsa bodywork? Do you blow holes through it easily?

pug, floor.... struggled to get a good weld going without melting the damn car

Managed it (ish) in the end though. Dont know why more folk dont just give things a bash themselves..... they really arent that hard once you have made your mistakes and learned from them

Iaz - would those take be strong enough? Or i suppose it doesnt really need to be that strong does it.... just needs to stay there

ur a legend mate! that corsa is looking mint! supprised you have time to yourself! i sprayed the bumpers etc on my missus car (not with a gun tho) and they were bad enough when the paint reacted, never mind tackling a whole car! then again its something i really want to have a go at but dont have the facilities

never really blown holes in the pannels really, but then again not really messing with thin metal where there is rust on the corsas!! pretty good for that!

where u are welding is strustual but from the looks of that one plate looks pretty heafty so u will be fine i wud think.....i am not expert tho!!

u done right thing cutting well back to get to some good metal to weld onto, my welding is messy and got alot of respect for people who can weld nice clean welds!!! i just take to the grinder after to get them looking betta!!

agree with u when it comes to having a go............. facilites stop alot of people from having a go at things i admit but there is always summit on your car anyone can do!!!! big or small it all counts and the feeling that u did it and u didnt have to pay someone else to is the best bit, even if its not as good job least u had a go and did it yourself !!! thats my opinion anyway

That's how i feel. Sprayed the kit on my car myself, and once you get the hang of it, you pick it up very quickly. It's just about having a suitable area for doing it, and having the balls to chuck a bit of cash into doing it and risking it. When your learning aswell it takes loads of patience, so that should you get it wrong, you'll just learn from it, rub it back down and start again. Becaus eof that though, it's very time consuming, and if you dont dedicate time to it, things can carry on for months (My front bumpers been of the car for a fortnight now sice i took it off to repair it when it cracked!).

Top work mate, dont know if youve seen the pics of what ive been doing..although it has taken me 5-6month fitting it in around uni and work.

Ive attempted to fit a prowler kit and smooth in every panel, smooth boot and wiper hole and delock/dehandle. Taken a lot of work.

Ive also put the filler cap behoind the rear light cluster, filled in the roof rack runners, put a bonnet vent and bonnet estensions on, spoiler and extension.. Hell of a lot of work but like i say did it all myself and its very staisfying just need it spraying as soon as the mot is done and im off!

Good luck!

at college when i was taught to weld i think i remember i was told to only tack on car body panels as seems can make it too hot and warp the panel even more.

Looking good Iaz
