Just bought a Corsa Sport 1.4 16v.
I got the car cheap as it has an electrical problem. Basically the car will start and then hardly run. I've replaced the HT leads and spark plugs but exactly the same. Also checked for a spark and all 4 seem ok. Also can smell petrol so assume the pump is fine. The guy I bought it from managed to drive it 20 miles to drop it off. Just had to keep the revs right up! Done the Paper clip test and got:
1503 - Immobiliser Control Unit
0505 - Idle Speed Stepper Motor/Idle air regulator
Error 0505 will need sorting but I cant see it being the cause of the above problem (I maybe wrong though! :-))..
Anyone know much about the 1503 error?
Any other advice/things I can test much appreciated. Still got 2 hrs of light to have a play! :-)
Cheers

Just some further info that may help.
Engines completely standard.. No performance air filters etc..
When I've managed to start the car for 10 seconds it just about ticks over (cant even rev it) and then cuts out. Just got the battery off at the moment to see if it resets the ECU.
Cheers

Ive had the exact same problem so i took to a vauxhall specialist and my keyed crankshaft pulley has worn and knocked all the timing out! does it bog down when you start moving?

Fraid I've not managed to drive it yet. The guy who had it before me said since the problem started you have to keep it revved up and the engine feels like it want to go faster but doesn't. I'll change the ICV as it came up with that error on the ECU. Just didn't think that sensor would be able to cause the same symptons as I'm getting. Thought it be just minors idling changes.
Wish me Luck!

Crank sensor was done just before I bought the car. Last owners changed it and then gave up. Just bought an ICV of ebay so will try that.
Corsa Kyle. I'll let you know if I manage to sort it. Looks like were both in the same boat! (mines an N reg 1.4 16v as well)

I think im goin to put a new engine in mine cause iv'e been told its the cheapest option or you can put a thicker key in so it holds and it could last a week or it could last 3 years you never know!
