You may of read one my previous posts about having to fork out £300 for a new belt, pump, and alternator a few weeks ago.
Anyway drove from Essex to Newcastle on Saturday. 250 miles in the car starts to judder, and then I lose all power. Managed to get it onto the hard shoulder. Called the AA (again) they come along tell me my petrols out!!! Put some in and it goes! so I'm thinking my fuel gauge is messed up. Coming home the next day and I get 40 miles out of Newcastle and it dies with a full tank. Argued with the AA as they said they wouldnt come out, eventually Mr AA man turns up. He shakes his head "could be your fuel pump, but ill have a look around the engine for you". Luckily he finds the problem. The earth wasnt connected properly. It was connected to the top bolt that goes from the alternator to the manifold, but the manifold is damaged, Looks like the bolt was overtighted breaking part of the manifold!!!
Seeing as the garage fitted the alternator a few weeks ago is it their fault?
What do I do people? Currently it's bodged with spacers.

I would take it too them and see what they say, probably tell you where to go though. Just kick off a bit and say you'll take it further, etc. if they dont fix it.

It's tricky as I dont want to kick off, but then again I'm not happy about having a bodged on alternator. I shall have to go see what they say.
