right im been a biff but does the gearbox have oil in it?

if so is it the same oil that you put in your engine, or is it a special gearbox oil.

how do i check it/refill if i need to.

there is a bolt you can remove that is a level check... remove bolt. top up till it leaks out then replace bolt

you shouldnt fill through that bolt as it fills the diff first. You shill fill through the breather on top of the gearlinkage turret so it fills the gearbox then flows over into the diff and out through that 13mm bolt.
You want an EP80/90 gear oil.

thanks ainsley, that really made things clear, will be popping to auto shop 2morro for some oil, roughly how much does the gearbox hold, if you know anyway.

Cheers

if your going to halfords it tells you in the flip chart you use to find out the type of oil you need, eg. 80W/90
