Just wondered what the highest ever tuned X16XE was? Has one hit 200bhp?

And X14XE, C20XE, C20LET for that matter.

Either an x16xe or a c16xe, doubt it's an x16xel though

Think SBD's unit is now in thr 267 region and 149lbs when it was last at track and road in essex.
But it's really a 1.7 now as it's stroekd even more.

When you stroke an engine, do you need to have a taller block?

means the engine has a larger stroke, making it have a larger cubic capacity (cc) making it a 1700cc not the original 1598cc..... bigger engine=more power/torque

Depends how much you are stroking, but they don't make a tal block for the 16xe blocks, so they've had to do it within the ocnfins of the the block, and it's over over bored.
After two events it needs new bearings all round (abotu 30mins runnign time tops, 5 under loads that is)
And after a season it's new block time as the old on is dead.

I'm aiming for over 200bhp from mine...

but interesting read for people looking at forced induction... the stroke size / rod length is ideal for forced induction on these engines, any longer & you could risk bending rods or worse when over 180bhp...

just my 2 pence...
