Looks good Ed, how you finding the rubbing down? I am really enthusiastic about bodywork etc, but once i get started on anything like that and realise how much hard work it is, i lose enthusiasm

close ur eyes and run ur fingers along it then ul know if its smooth or not thats anuva lil trick,also that gel is cyanaocralyte gel or sumfin like that its made by bodyline we used to use it 4 smart repairing alloys n plastics its amazing stuff flexible 2 unlike filler

Jamie: The easy sand filler is easy to sand funnily enough. The 1k high build primer doesn't sand too easily actually. Which is good because it prevents you from taking too much off. It's a very time consuming process, but it's worth spending a while getting it right...

yes, funilly enough i gathered the easy sand filler would be a filler which is easy to sand  however, only gathered this after i had posted and went back to read some more of the thread.

Yes, the glass on my 1.2 16v is the one with the slight tint to it, it makes such a difference, especially with the dark interior.

Yea, the cracks were in the filler, not the fibreglass, so as soon as I had sanded back all the filler the cracks were gone. I have been re-skinning the fibreglass with tin ammounts of filler in comparison to what was used previously... Hopefully the cracks will not return!

Yea, been working on the arch again this morning, was just waiting for the filler to set but I have loads of other stuff to do today so I might give up...

Well, I finally got some more work done. I am now happy with the o/s rear arch. Though I did run out of primer to get it looking good for pictures...
Then there was this issue:
So I used some high strength resin adhesive (a.k.a. Araldite ) to bond the crack together:
Then fibreglassed over with a fair ammount of resin:
I couldn't find a clamp to use, so some PVC tape came in handy 
Used a bit of fibrefill and fibreglass to re-attatch the sideskirt to the arch PROPERLY, unlike the mess that was there before:
Next up was the scuttle pannel. I was going to do it a bit different to how I have done, but I changed my mind and decided to do it totally smooth instead. Man does expanding foam expand
This is where things start getting serious....
Off come the door handles:
I decided not to do any welding until I have the solinoids in and working nicely due to space constraints, and not deciding what solinoid to use e.t.c...

- Rear bumper repair and tidy up session
- Fit door solinoids
- Weld over door handles
- Finish scuttle off
- Weld up roof rails
- Sand off excessive filler on side skirts (the door on one side is actually hitting the side skirt when I shut the door ffs)
- Remove engine
- Sand off paint
- Paint
- Send lots of bits off to be electroplated
- Re-fit engine
- Waxoyl
- Paint up lots of little bits to do a general tidy
