hello,
bought an audiobahn 6 channel amp a few months ago off a mate, not used it since
wired the + and - up today but when i connected the live (without a remote wire) it was sparking bad, held it on for a second more (it has 2 40amp fuses in the unit and a 15 on the wire just incasE) and something inside popped (not good!) but it did not blow any fuses
its wired in properly, so i have NO idea what could be wrong. is it a case of the live part of it is earthing somehow on the case? any common faults with audiobahn gear?
cheers

im not sure what is wrong with the amp, but did u say a 15amp fuse on the power cable? Have you checked if that was not what went pop? as if the amp has 2x40amp fuses, the cable should also have an 80 amp fuse, although that is only if the cable is good enough quality and large enough, I would say at least a 4 gauge wiring kit, if not 0 gauge.

no i just put a 15 in because it was popping. it was something on the amp that blew as i saw the smoke. fuses remained in tac. used 4g wire as the amp was not wired up to speakers or going to be used, just testing the electrics side of it
